3rd Grade at PPPCS
Our team would like to take a moment to welcome you and your child to 3rd grade! This year your child will be engaged in many hands-on learning experiences that aim to educate the WHOLE child. You can look forward to many exciting learning experiences, including theme-based projects, service learning, field trips, and arts integration. We welcome parent volunteers with any of the above activities, and encourage you to discuss them with your child at home.
This year is an especially exciting one, as the 3rd grade will be departmentalizing! Your child will be meeting with each of the three teachers every day. Ms. Kiphorn (homeroom 3B), will teach language arts, Mr. Rodriguez (homeroom 3C), will teach math, and Ms. Huber (homeroom 3A), will teach science and social studies. This is our second year working together as a team. We have enjoyed planning together in order to tie our individual subject areas to a common theme.
Our classrooms work to promote a sense of community among our students. We are dedicated to creating a safe environment that holds respect, honesty, and responsibility in high regard. We encourage our students to collaborate with their peers on a regular basis. We require that our students leave the 3rd grade able to problem solve and work well with others.
